Depois de cinco temporadas brilhantes e premiadas, a série "Breaking Bad" foi coroada na noite desta segunda-feira (25) no Emmy 2014 com cinco prêmios, incluindo o de melhor série dramática e três de atuação. A comédia "Modern Family" venceu pelo quinto ano consecutivo o prêmio de melhor série de comédia.
Bryan Cranston venceu o quinto Emmy de melhor ator pelo papel de Walter White em "Breaking Bad". "Até eu pensei em votar no Matthew [McConaughey, indicado por "True Detective" e vencedor do Oscar 2014]", brincou o ator ao discursar.
Aaron Paul e Anna Gunn, que interpretam Jesse e Skyler na série, receberam o terceiro Emmy de melhor ator e atriz coadjuvante. Ao receber o prêmio, Paul pediu aplausos para os outros indicados e se emocionou ao falar da última temporada de "Breaking Bad", apontada sempre como uma das favoritas.
A roteirista Moira Walley-Beckett foi premiada pelo episódio "Ozymandias", um dos mais comentados da última série de "Breaking Bad".
Ainda de "Mordern Family", Gail Mancuso venceu na categoria diretor de comédia e o ator Ty Burrell na categoria melhor ator coadjuvante.
Jim Parsons venceu pela quarta vez na categoria de melhor ator de comédia, pelo papel de Sheldon em "The Big Bang Theory". Julia Louis-Dreyfus levou pela terceira vez por sua personagem em "Veep" – a atriz também tem prêmios por "Seinfeld" e "The New Adventures of Old Christine".
Entre as atrizes coadjuvantes, Allison Janney foi premiada por "Mom". Ainda entre as categorias de comédia, o ator e roteirista Louis C.K foi premiado por melhor roteiro, pelo episódio "Louie - So Did The Fat Lady".
Julianna Margulies, da série "The Good Wife", recebeu o Emmy de melhor atriz de série dramática. "Que época maravilhosa para mulheres na televisão", disse a atriz, ao elogiar as colegas indicadas.
Nas categorias de melhor minissérie ou telefilme, os atores de "Sherlock" Benedict Cumberbatch e Martin Freeman levaram os prêmios de melhor ator e melhor ator coadjuvante, respectivamente. Jessica Lange e Kathy Bates, de "American Horror Story: Coven" foram escolhidas melhor atriz e melhor atriz coadjuvante.
"Fargo", uma das campeãs de indicações, levou o Emmy de melhor minissérie, enquanto o de telefilme ficou com "The Normal Heart".
Indicada em 19 categorias, "Game of Thrones", que teve uma quarta temporada cheia de acontecimentos inesperados e atuações memoráveis de Peter Dinklage, não levou nenhum prêmio.
A cerimônia do Emmy 2014 também foi palco de uma homenagem ao ator Robin Williams, morto aos 62 anos no último dia 11. Consagrado por sua carreira no cinema, Williams também se destacou na TV, tendo recebido nove indicações ao Emmy e levado a estatueta em duas ocasiões.
Em 2013, Williams protagonizou a série "The Crazy Ones", que durou apenas uma temporada.
