A rumour has surfaced online that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain could be scheduled for launch in February 2015.
According to Byte Size Impressions, they spoke with an employee from Sony who has strong ties to a Konami representative and, in the process, accidentally let slip that the highly anticipated open world stealth title could be hitting retail shelves as early as February 2015. However, the February 2015 is only a target date set for the titles release, but publisher Konami has already confirmed that The Phantom Pain will launch in 2015.
The Guardian did an interview with Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid creator and director, earlier this year on MGS representation of the United States superpower status in world politics, and at the end of the article they stated that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain would be launched on March 17th, 2015 before replacing this with early 2015, of course.
Earlier this month, Konami confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 were titles to be showcased at IgroMir in Moscow, Russia, and during the convention Hideo Kojima announced a release date of December 18th for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PC.
Running on Kojima Productions Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will launch in 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
