Something is going on between Konami and Hideo Kojima as Logo's are being removed, sites redirect and Kojima isn't listed as a Konami executive any longer
An interesting topic bumped up on the Neogaf forums regarding Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. A few weeks ago Kojima announced that MGS V: The Phantom Pain would be his last game in the Metal Gear series and although he has said that many times before this time there seem to be other signs that something is going on.
First of all we have a news announcement at the Konami website called the ‘Announcement of Executive Appointments’. The announcement which was actually posted 2 weeks ago doesn’t mention Kojima as being a Konami executive any longer.
Another thing that makes us and the guys at Neogaf wonder is a recent tweet from the official Twitter account of the Metal Gear Series:
https://twitter.com/Kojima_Pro_Live/status/578473094995542016
Judging from the tweet Kojima is moving the metal gear twitter account to a new one called @metalgear_en. Aside from the moving of twitter accounts, it would seem that the following url http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro is now even redirecting to Konami’s Metal Gear Portal and the Kojima Pro logo in the footer of the official MGS V website is no longer in place:
http://web.archive.org/web/20150223193621/http://www.konami.jp/mgs5/
http://www.konami.jp/mgs5/
Surely there is something going on between Konami and Kojima. Fans of the series are already speculating that Kojima might in fact be leaving to continue as an independant developer with people fans worrying about the future of Metal Gear and Kojima’s Silent Hills title.
We will keep you updated.
