Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami as of Dec. 15, according to a report from Japan's Nikkei.

According to Nikkei, Kojima is establishing a new studio and is in talks with PlayStation maker Sony Computer Entertainment.

In October, The New Yorker reported that Kojima was leaving Konami and that his non-compete clause would end in December. Konami refuted the report, saying that Kojima was still an employee.

Kojima's relationship with Konami began to show strain in March, when the publisher announced a corporate restructuring and removed Kojima Productions' branding from Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain promotional materials. The following month, Konami canceled Kojima's collaboration with Guillermo del Toro, Silent Hills, suggesting further turmoil. Later, in July, Kojima Productions was reportedly disbanded.

Polygon has reached out to Konami for comment on Nikkei's report and will update with any new details.

Kojima to Form New Studio With Sony - Report

Metal Gear creator and a band of former Kojima Productions staffers are reportedly in discussions with Sony.

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima's next move may have been revealed. The veteran game designer is in talks with Sony to form a new studio with a group of former Kojima Productions staffers, according to a new report today from Japanese publication Nikkei. If this were to happen, he would presumably become a Sony employee.

As of today, December 15, Kojima has officially left Konami, the report claims, citing unnamed sources. It is unclear at this time if Kojima is also in discussions with other studios.

GameSpot has contacted Konami and Sony in an attempt to get more details.

Mesmos e não rolar Kojima na Sony, acho que é melhor pegar 980 + PS4 ou Xone em vez de gastar uma fortuna em uma placa que vai rodar tudo no talo igual a outra.
